You may have already heard of immunotherapy when you look for a cancer treatment option for you or someone you love. This site is where you can find information about this promising and scientifically advanced cancer therapy.
What’s special about immunotherapy is that it uses your body’s power – the immune system to fight against cancer.
Cancer immunotherapy works in two ways:
- Strengths your immune system to help eliminate tumor cells
- Enhances the immune response by providing additional components for your body
At Immunotherapy China, we offer cell based cancer immunotherapies that uses Dendritic Cells (DCs) and T cells, including Cytotoxic T Lymphocytes (CTLs) or Cytokine-induced Killer Cells (CIK), to target the tumor cells and eliminate them. Each type of cancer expresses at least one type of tumor markers (or antigens, such as PSA for prostate cancer for example). In our immunotherapy, these antigens will be loaded to the dendritic cells. Dendritic cells will pass on the signals to the T cells, to train them to recognize the cells with such antigens and eliminate them.
- Power to target cancer.
- Effectiveness on various types of cancer, including the ones that do not respond to radiotherapy or chemotherapy.
- Much reduced side effects
- Possibility for long-term remissions.
Dendritic Cells (DCs) are immune cells forming part of the mammalian immune system. They capture and transfer information to the cells of the adaptive immune system, hence induce the primary immune response. They are also important for the induction of immunological tolerance, and also for the regulation of the type of T cell-mediated immune response.
Cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) are lymphocytes in our immune system that kill other (“target”) cells. Targets may include virus-infected cells, cells infected with intracellular bacterial or protozoal parasites, or cancer cells.
